Team JNPV

Joyce Huang, Nathalia Lie, Priya Kattappurath, Vini Tripathii

Hello! This semester, we took a class where students learn to tie the fundamental principles of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) across virtual and physical boundaries to create autonomous robots able to perceive, reason about, and act upon their environment. Specifically, we were able to design and fabricate a robot able to navigate and map out a maze in the shortest possible time.

Labs

Robot under construction...

Lab 1

Microcontroller

Lab 2

Analog Circuitry and FFTs

Lab 3

Radio Communication and Map Drawing

Lab 4

FPGA and Vision

Milestones

Getting closer and closer to the final robot...

  • Milestone 1

    Basic Movement

A robot that successfully follows a line and traverses a grid in a figure eight.

  • Milestone 2

    Detection

A robot that successfully follows a wall and detects other robots.

  • Milestone 3

    Maze Exploration

A robot that traverses a maze using a search algorithm, specifically DFS.

  • Milestone 4

    Treasure Detection

A robot that distinguishes different colors and shapes for treasure hunting.

  • Final Milestone

    Design Report

Synthesis and analysis of the robot design for final competition!
